Sorong – West Papua Governor, Dominggus Mandacan officially opened the Sports and Art Week (Porseni), Toraja Family Association (IKT) of West Papua II Province, centered in Sorong City, West Papua, Saturday, June 17, 2017.
The Governor Mandacan was ccompanied by the Chairman of the Society Alliance of Toraja Indonesia (PMTI), Frederik Batong; the Chairman of the IKT of West Papua Province, Stevanus Selang; and the Chairman of the IKT at the Regency level, the chairman of the Committee and the Chairman of West Papua Provincial Legislative, hit the drums as a sign of the opening of the Porseni activities.
A total of 1392 participants joined from the 12 IKT in district of West Papua Province, enlivened the biennial sports week.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Vice Governor’s wife, Lani Lasainggi Lokatani; RI Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) of West Papua constituency, Jacob Esau Komigi; Chairman of West Papua Provincial Legislative Pieters Konjdol, Representative from Polri and TNI including Commander Lantamal XIV Sorong, Brig. Gen. (Marines) Amir Faisol.
The event was held to commemorate the 104th anniversary of the Gospel in Toraja, and the 9th anniversary of IKT West Papua, as well as the anniversary of the National Hero of Toraja origin, Pongtiku.
