
To show they are ever present for the community, and to support the program to improve public health quality in the Papua border region, the RI-PNG Regional Border Security Task Force 614/Raja Pandhita Infantry Battalion of Malagaineri Post held a free medical program in Lowanom village, Malagaineri District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan, Thursday (16/1).
The free medical services was directly led by the Deputy Post Commander, 2nd Inf. Lt. Willy, along with the health personnel from Malagaineri Post. In addition to conducting health check-ups, they also provided free medications to the community and education on the importance of maintaining health, especially amidst the frequently changing weather conditions that are prone to causing various diseases.
The 2nd Lieutenant explained that many people in the border areas of Papua are experiencing health issues due to the difficulty in accessing medical services. Therefore, the presence of the 614/RJP Infantry Battalion Task Force through this health program is expected to help lighten the burden of the residents.
“With the frequently changing weather conditions, many people are experiencing health issues.” We went directly to provide treatment as well as educate about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and health so that they can live healthier lives,” explained the 2nd Lieutenant.
Meanwhile, Wagiles Kiwo (54), a resident of Lowanom village, expressed his gratitude for the attention and assistance provided by the personnel of the Malagaineri Post, Yonif 614/RJP Task Force.
We are very grateful to the TNI officers from the Malagayneri Post who are always ready to help us, especially in terms of health. This program is very helpful for us who are far from health facilities. We can only pray that the TNI officers are granted health and safety in carrying out their duties in the border areas,” said Wagiles.
