
The Mobile Border Security Task Force RI-PNG Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Habema Operations Command has provided humanitarian assistance to flood victims in Mumugu Village, Krepkuri District, Nduga Regency, Papua, Sunday (8/9/2024).
The Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Task Force, led by Infantry Lieutenant Yudi Riandoko, went directly to the disaster site to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Mumugu Village who were affected by the flooding.
The Territorial Section Officer of the Task Force, Lieutenant Inf Yudi Riandoko said that this activity was a tangible manifestation of concern and moral support for the victims.
“As one of the Task Force Posts in Krepkuri District, we will continue to help and care about this incident,” said Lieutenant Yudi.
This flood disaster was experienced by almost everyone in Mumugu Village due to the Kenyam – Agats river which overflowed due to extremely high rainfall in early September.
Floods with water levels reaching 60 cm submerged the community settlements. Thus, the Mayangkara Knights were called upon to provide relief action.
The assistance is in the form of cleaning flooded houses, health services for the community, providing basic necessities, and ensuring that there are no casualties from this incident. The people of Mumugu Village expressed their gratitude for the aid provided.
